Learning Outcomes
- Structured Problem-Solving Confidence — Develop the ability to break down ambiguous, loosely defined problems into clear, structured improvement journeys, enabling confident decision-making even when information is incomplete.
- Evidence-Based Decision Making — Learn to move discussions away from opinion and intuition by interpreting data objectively, validating assumptions correctly, and distinguishing real signals from noise.
- Sustainable Improvement Capability — Go beyond short-term fixes by identifying true root causes, designing practical improvements, and establishing controls that sustain results over time.
- Cross-Functional Alignment — Use a common problem-solving language that reduces debate, shortens alignment cycles, and enables teams to focus on solving the right problems together.
- Capability That Scales With Responsibility — Build a foundational skill set that remains relevant as roles, responsibilities, and problem complexity increase, supporting long-term professional growth.
Key Focus Areas
Topics Covered
- Problem Framing & Measurement Readiness — Translate business challenges into well-defined problems, measurable objectives, and meaningful baselines before solutions are considered.
- Understanding Variation & Process Performance — Learn to interpret variation correctly, distinguish stable from unstable processes, and avoid reacting to normal fluctuations.
- Root Cause Analysis & Logical Diagnosis — Apply disciplined analysis to identify true drivers of performance rather than fixing visible symptoms.
- Data-Driven Validation & Control — Validate causes and solutions using structured evidence and design controls that prevent regression after implementation.
- Selective Use of AI Within DMAIC — Use AI as a thinking support tool to clarify problem statements and scope, structure analytical paths and hypotheses, and screen improvement ideas for impact and feasibility, applied only where it strengthens clarity and decision quality without substituting structured methods or statistical validation.
